STILL came up with a full and detailed proposal, which entailed a full analysis of the current fleet and operation. The result of which allowed us to not just reduce the overall size of the fleet, but standardise the specification of trucks to enable us to rotate the trucks in different parts of the operation – thus offering us far more utilisation.

What were your requirements?

We needed a truck that was reliable, offered good vision and comfort as our drivers tend to be operating the trucks between 8 to 12 hours a day. We also wanted a fleet management system that could monitor the usage of the truck, the operators driving standards and also energy usage.

Extensive trialling with various manufacturers. The feedback from our operators on the demo equipment (within KN Drinks Logistics) was confirmed very favourable towards the STILL truck.

What were your requirements?

We regard Operator satisfaction as extremely important. We needed a unique and safe specification to meet KN Drinks Logistics requirements. The simplicity of battery changing was important and a good operating partnership with STILL.

The high level of support from STILL UK’s Technical Team. I must also mention the support from STILL Transport who constantly transfer equipment around the group, often at very short notice. Also, we are impressed by the operating duration from one single battery on the RX60-30 keg clamp truck. Finally, the improved visibility through the mast and keg clamp attachment and the general operator comfort (as these trucks will be working 3000 hours per annum).

We investigated what the best option was for the business from a commercial point of view, looking for a more cost effective solution and also discounting our long standing relationship with STILL. Our results showed us that STILL were the company we wanted to do business with. We therefore placed an order for the 10 x CX 20 , 1 x EXUS-22 and 1 x EXU 16 all due for delivery in early 2013. By choosing STILL we expect a reduction in energy costs due to the highly efficient battery and charging system chosen.

What were your requirements?

STILL and Booths have been in partnership for over 20 years and have formed a great relationship. We currently operate a fleet of 40 + trucks which include FMX reach trucks, RX20 counterbalance and CX 20 picking trucks. After a recent review of our existing fleet it was determined that we needed to replace 10 of our CX20 order picking trucks and also required an additional ride on powered pallet truck (EXUS-22) and a pedestrian powered pallet truck (EXU 16).

Are you happy with the level of service?

We currently deal with a STILL’s dedicated Service Engineer on a day to day basis. He offers constant re-assurance and trust with the service he provides. Our site engineer has been with us for a number of years and has a great rapport with all on site. It actually feels as though he is a Booths member of staff.

I can rest assured with STILL that they will provide honest advice and I have confidence that all work carried out will be completed to a high standard.

What made you choose STILL?

Following trials at Northampton, Rowley Regis and Leigh depots last year, XPOLogistics decided that STILL’s RX70 Hybrid Drive LPG forklifts offer the lowest energy consumption and reduction of CO2 emissions. The highly efficient FLTs are currently operating at depots around the UK, from Wakefield and Darlington to Luton and Hounslow.

What were your requirements?

As part of our commitment to driving down the environmental footprint of our supply chain it was important to choose FLT’s with high efficiency levels. The initial trials demonstrated that the hybrid drive trucks would deliver a significant business improvement with an average 35% reduction in fuel consumption and, depending on use, some even saw a drop of almost 50%. The outgoing trucks use 5.4 litres of fuel per hour, whereas the new model uses 2.4 litres hour, when measured against industry VDI 2198 Standard.

Yes, the hybrid forklift trucks demonstrate our continued commitment to looking at all areas of the supply chain as we aim to improve our operational efficiency to support customers and minimise our environmental impact.
